Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Project Assistant for the Center of Alcohol & Substance Use Studies.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Participates in several federally funded addiction and trauma research projects.
- Handles subject recruitment, community engagement, and coordination of study visits.
- Assists the principal investigator in preparing regulatory documentation for the institutional review board and funding agencies.
- Trains new research staff and students.
- Provides general administrative support (e.g., ordering supplies, record keeping).
- Handles data management and analysis.
- Performs literature reviews.
- Assists with preparation of grant proposals and research dissemination.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in a related scientific field, including psychology, neuropsychology, neuroscience, and public health, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Must be well-organized, detail-oriented.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once by prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and work collaboratively.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Qualtrics, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Strong working knowledge of data analytic software such as SPSS, R, MPlus.

Preferred Qualifications |
- At least 2 years of experience conducting or assisting with academic research in a related field.
- Experience in manuscript and grant writing.
- Intermediate statistical knowledge.

Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
