From your PASSION to ours

The Accounting Administrator will support the Milk Procurement Department, with primary responsibility for managing the daily milk tickets at the South Park (Buffalo) facility. This includes processing milk slips, ensuring accounting accuracy, and verifying compliance with USDA requirements. This role also serves as a backup to the Milk Payroll Manager for farm payroll processing and may support other company facilities outside of New York as needed.

From your EXPERTISE to ours

Key responsibilities for this position include:

* Oversee daily milk ticket management at the South Park facility by reviewing manifests for slip and scale accuracy, ensuring compliance with USDA standards.

* Process and reconcile milk slips and perform general accounting duties related to daily & monthly milk intake.

* Monitor slip-to-scale discrepancies and collaborate with cooperatives and haulers to resolve load weight issues.

* Communicate and balance twice monthly with cooperatives and internal plant staff regarding slip, scale results, and component sample data.

* Use Excel and DSI systems to manage and audit data, focusing on volume, component results, and barcode inventory for manifests and samples.

* Assist with preparation of monthly accruals by summarizing milk intake and component data for the designated fiscal period. This includes direct producer data entry.

* Maintain accurate producer milk procurement records and filing systems within DSI

* Provide administrative backup for farm payroll processing, supporting the Milk Payroll Manager as needed.

* Support other dairy plant locations outside New York on an as-needed basis for special projects and cross training.

* Prepare and deliver recurring weekly and monthly reports; filing all milk invoices in our database

* Assist with training and documentation updates for Milk Procurement processes.

* Complete special projects or ad hoc assignments as directed by department leadership.

Requirements

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:

Education

* Associate's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience

* 3 - 5 years of relatable experience, preferably from an accounting, administrative, or operational setting required.

* Prior experience in manufacturing, agricultural, or dairy industry setting preferred.

Certifications and specific knowledge

* Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel

* Experience using DSI or milk procurement software systems is a plus

* Strong attention to detail and ability to resolve discrepancies

* Knowledge of USDA regulations of milk procurement process is a plus
