Position Title: Skilled - Maintenance Technician Wage: $25.00 - $35.00/Hour Shift: 2nd Shift Hours: 4:00 PM - 4:00 AM Monday - Thursday Reached a dead end at your current job? Skilled - Maintenance Technician Responsibilities: - Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment - Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service - Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities - Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines. - Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service - Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments - Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities - Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions - Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties - Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision - Keep daily log of work done to turn into shift supervisor at end of each shift - Work in a variety of areas ranging from ground to the roof - Work in very low to very high temperatures with proper personal protective equipment - Perform landscape and snow removal duties - Clean up the work area during and at end of each shift - Maintain a clean and safe work area - Other duties as assigned Requirements For Skilled - Maintenance Technician: - High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience - Able to work well with others - Must be able to read, write, and perform basic mathematical computations - Must be able to read a tape measure - Must be able to understand and adhere to all the safety requirements of the pallet manufacturing - The ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly - The ability to lift up to 80 pounds on very rare occasions - The ability to grasp, hold, and use hand tools such as wrenches, screw drivers and hammers - The ability to grasp, hold and use power tools such as saws, vibratory tools and drills - The ability to respond quickly to sounds - The ability to move safety over uneven terrain or in confined spaces - The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations - The ability to safely climb ladders while carrying up to 40 pounds - The ability to kneel and crawl in performance of normal maintenance duties - The ability to work in extreme weather - The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day - Must be able to sit, walk, bend and twist for long periods of time throughout the day QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
