JOB SUMMARY:

The Global Trade Operations and Logistics Analyst is responsible for coordination of BioCryst day-today trade compliance, transportation, warehousing operations to ensure efficient movement of domestic and international shipments. This position will work with all areas of the company including R&D, CMC, Clinical and Commercial Supply Chain.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Partner with Logistics, CMC, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, Quality, Regulatory, R&D and CMO's as necessary to ensure all movements of goods are processed in timely, compliant and cost-effective manner.
  • Accurately complete documentation and fulfill related functions necessary to process BioCryst's import and export shipments, in accordance with BioCryst's Import Export Compliance policy, procedures, US and foreign trade regulations.
  • Review customs entry documents customhouse brokers file on BioCryst's behalf to ensure timely filing and the accurate declaration of data to US Customs and Border Protection, Canada's Border Services Agency and other customs agencies in countries, where BioCryst acts as an Importer of Record (IOR).
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of all BioCryst's import and export transactions.
  • Coordinate special project development and implementation across multiple departments using standard Project Management tools.
  • Assist in the development of effective KPI measurable indicators for all aspects of import / export / transportation / warehousing operational activities such as volume, type of entries, duties, transportation and warehousing costs, and other available metrics; generate internal or external reports, as required.
  • Partner with Legal, Procurement and Quality teams to ensure all transportation and warehouse providers have Contracts and Annual Quality Audits in place to maintain Qualified Vendor status.
  • Manage GMP warehouse contracts and interface with CMC, Commercial Supply Chain and other business functions who use warehouse space.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external business partners to achieve company objectives; professionally communicate critical, time-sensitive information, exceptions and changes to affected parties.
  • Support the assessment and implementation of best practices, technologies, and automation solutions to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Other duties as assigned.



EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred in Business, Supply Chain/Logistics, or Life Sciences or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in Pharmaceutical Logistics, Storage and Distribution of temperature-controlled/cold chain products, preferred.
  • 2+ years of freight forwarding (LTL, TL, Parcel, Air Cargo and/or Ocean) experience, reviewing freight BOL's and invoice reconciliation/audits, preferred.
  • Functional understanding and experience with international trade compliance laws and regulations including but not limited to, imports, exports, economic sanctions, Harmonization Tariff system (HTS), Country of Origin, Anti-boycott laws and Free Trade Agreements.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player and work effectively in cross functional team environment.
  • Must have exceptional communication/presentation skills, self-motivated, exposure and/or knowledge of software programs including Microsoft Project, Power Point, MS Project, Interactive Response Technology (IRT), and Microsoft Office. Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel are preferred.
  • Experience with Supply Chain ERP/MRP systems such as Oracle or SAP, preferred.
  • BioCryst works with data, technology and materials that are subject to U.S. export laws and regulations. This position will require access to data, technology and source code that is controlled under U.S. export laws and regulations, including but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations at 22 C.F.R. Parts 120 - 130 and Export Administration Regulations in 15 C.F.R. Part 730 - 774, as may be amended. To conform to these laws and regulations, applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents of the U.S., protected individuals as defined by 8 USC 1324(b)(a)(3) (i.e., asylees and refugees) or otherwise eligible for an export authorization from the U.S. Department of State or U.S. Department of Commerce.
