The Material Handler (Bulk Receiving) will be responsible for managing raw materials and finished
goods through various warehouse operations. Key duties include operating forklifts for material handling, loading/unloading trucks, and filling chemical containers (drums/totes). Performs receiving and processing of incoming products, prepares outbound orders, and maintains accurate inventory control. Ensures quality standards are met while maintaining a clean, organized warehouse environment in compliance with facility protocols and safety regulations. Essential functions include material handling, chemical handling, inventory management, and maintaining warehouse organization and safety standards. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Material Handling and Storage
- Execute primary material handling responsibilities for inbound inventory placement
- Implement systematic put-away procedures following warehouse protocols
- Maintain organized storage locations and tracking systems
Batch Processing
- o Follow process order instructions for bulk production
- o Manage large volume batch generation in finished goods tanks
- o Ensure compliance with production specifications
Production Monitoring
- Oversee multiple raw material dosing sources
- Monitor batch production in bulk tanks
- Track production parameters and specifications
Quality Control
- Perform quality inspections of finished goods
- Conduct raw material and finished goods lab testing
- Verify product specification
* Chemical Process Management
- Monitor neuralization tank pH levels
- Make batch adjustments for proper pH ranges
- Ensure compliance with waste disposal requirements
- Operate SBS scrubber system
Communication and Issue Resolution
- Monitor and report inventory discrepancies to warehouse management
- Coordinate with production and quality teams regarding material concerns
- Provide timely updates on inventory status and challenges
Order Fulfillment
- Process and fulfill production orders according to specifications
- Pick materials for customer orders with accuracy and efficiency
- Handle miscellaneous material requests promptly
Lab Calibration and Equipment Management
- Evaluate and calibrate all lab equipment to ISO standards
- Manage the inventory of all lab supply standards and equipment
- Keep calibration records up to date per procedure
Production Order Management
- Evaluate and prioritize production orders based on customer requirements
- Assign and distribute orders to appropriate production areas
- Track order progress and completion status
Receiving and Inventory Control
- Verify incoming shipments for accuracy and quality
- Process received materials including lot identification and counting
- Organize and store materials in designated locations
Inventory Management Systems
- Maintain accurate inventory records using designated systems
- Perform regular audits and reconciliations
- Update digital or manual tracking systems as required
Cross-departmental Coordination
- Liaise with planning department on material requirements
- Facilitate communication between manufacturing units
- Support efficient customer shipment processes
EHS Compliance
- Follow established safety protocols and procedures
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Participate in required safety meetings and audits
Hazardous Materials Handling
- Comply with DOT and hazardous waste regulations
- Execute proper loading/unloading procedures
- Follow emergency response protocols for spills
Emergency Response
- Maintain availability for emergency situations as required
- Respond to after-hours calls when necessary
- Support critical operations during emergencies
Tank Monitoring
- Measure and record tank levels using calibrated equipment
- Document readings accurately
- Report variations from normal levels
Equipment Maintenance
- Perform valve defrosting procedures using appropriate equipment
- Follow safety protocols when using steam equipment
- Maintain equipment in proper working condition
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years ofrelated batch chemical blending/ formulation experience with hazardous materials
- Minimum of (2) years' experience working in a chemical manufacturing / warehouse environment with hazardous materials.
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs frequent lifting and/or carrying objects
- Working knowledge of SAP
- Attention to detail and strong math skills
- Strong computer skills, including MS Outlook, Excel, Word, and the Internet
- Team player, individual thinker
- Customer focused; positive attitude
- Experience driving a forklift
