Position Summary

The University of New Mexico College of Population Health is offering a unique opportunity as a Project Assistant to support Creative Services. We are seeking a motivated, creative, focused and accountable candidate with demonstrable experience in various aspects of social media, writing skills, and the fundamentals of photography and design.

This position requires the ability to leverage digital tools and online marketing strategies to aid in the development and promotion of the College of Population Health's "voice" and UNM's brand to create successful messaging to a variety of internal and external audiences.

Successful candidate will possess the following attributes:

1) Highly creative

2) Strong communication skills; verbal and written

3) Self-starter who is able to work independently and collaboratively

4) Experience with social media, particularly Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn

5) Experience in Microsoft applications, particularly Word and Excel

6) Professional mentality and willingness to learn from feedback and take direction

7) Problem-solving skills is a must

8) Fundamental design aesthetic and any experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications (Express, Photoshop, or Illustrator) a BIG plus

Description of duties:

1) Assists with ideation and planning of social media content calendar

2) Assists in the management of existing College of Population Health social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn)

3) Assists in the creation of basic collateral (social media and email graphics) using Adobe Creative Cloud products

4) Posting live to social media and candid photography during events

5) Administrative support for the Manager, COPH Creative Services

Supervision, Hours and Environment:

1) Under direct supervision of the Marketing Manager, College of Population Health

2) 10-20 hours per week, will work around class and exam schedule

3) 9 to12 - month appointment (summer hours available if qualified)

4) Traditional office setting with some work on location at events on and off campus


Minimum Qualifications

Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.
