The Opportunity

We're looking for a strategic Director of Engineering Program Management to lead and scale our program management function across a complex, global engineering organization. This is a pivotal leadership role where you'll drive execution excellence, foster cross-functional alignment, and craft the future of our platform. You'll be at the center of our most critical initiatives-balancing technical depth with organizational influence, and execution rigor with strategic foresight. Key Responsibilities / What You'll Do
  • Lead and Encourage: Manage and mentor a distributed team of Program Managers, encouraging a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate the delivery of high-impact programs, ensuring clear scope, sequencing, and timing. Maintain high standards of precision in project planning and execution.
  • Strategic Alignment: Partner with engineering, product, and design leaders to align programs with business goals. Question and refine strategy to ensure relevance and impact.
  • Systems Thinking: Apply full-stack and systems thinking to solve complex challenges, streamline workflows, and scale program infrastructure.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Foster positive relationships across business units and product groups. Serve as a trusted advisor and connective tissue across teams.
  • Portfolio Management: Own the health of the program portfolio, balancing short-term priorities with long-term growth. Track and communicate progress, risks, and trade-offs.
  • Operational Rigor: Champion data hygiene, tooling efficiency (e.g., JIRA), and outcome-based prioritization. Ensure transparency and urgency in execution.
  • Organizational Influence: Advocate and represent the capabilities, plans, and objectives of our platform solutions to drive outcomes for Adobe in leadership forums.
What You'll Bring / What You Need to Succeed
  • 15+ years of experience in technical program management or engineering leadership, with 7+ years in a senior or director-level role.
  • Proven success managing large-scale, cross-functional programs in cloud, platform, or collaboration technology domains.
  • Demonstrates strong technical competence in infrastructure, user experience, and systems architecture.
  • Deep experience with agile methodologies, portfolio management, and tools like JIRA.
  • Outstanding communication and storytelling skills-able to influence at all levels, from engineers to executives.
  • A strategic attitude with the ability to prioritize based on outcome, think holistically, and implement with urgency.
  • Experience leading globally distributed teams and encouraging inclusive, high-performing cultures.
  • A passion for precision, user-centric design, and driving measurable business outcomes.
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $170,700 -- $315,000 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
