Are you an experienced accounting professional with a background in construction or project-based industries? Staffmark is partnering with a leading commercial construction company in Lafayette to hire a Project Accountant.
This direct hire role offers the chance to contribute to impactful projects while growing your career in a supportive, fast-paced environment.

Salary: $60,000 - $75,000 (based on experience)

Schedule: Full-Time | First Shift | Monday-Friday

Responsibilities:



  • Monitor budgets, forecasts, and project cost reports
  • Process subcontractor invoices, AIA billings, and change orders
  • Collaborate with project managers to track costs and update projections
  • Set up new projects in accounting systems and manage AR
  • Prepare project-specific financial statements and support month-end close
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and audit requirements



Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in construction or project accounting
  • Familiarity with WIP schedules, job cost reporting, and AIA billing
  • Experience with software like Sage, Procore, or Viewpoint is a plus
  • Strong Excel skills and a detail-oriented mindset
