Overview

HJF is seeking an Intern whose work will involve performance of a variety of computational writing tasks related to understanding the immunopathology associated with sepsis. The successful candidate will provide technical reports involving a variety of computational analyses (including but not limited to electronic health record data, proteomics, transcriptomics, and metabolomics) carried out by our team. This work may include data analysis and assistance in the interpretation of data. This position is a part-time role up to 20 hours per week.

This position will be in support of the Austere environments Consortium for Enhanced Sepsis Outcomes.

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. Responsibilities

  • Lead technical writing for research publication.
  • Create data visualizations for reports and assist with preparation of manuscripts and presentations.
  • Present results to and discuss findings with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Assist in data analysis.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 0-2 years experience required.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Technical expertise in Mathematics, Statistics or Computational Biology.
  • Understanding of immunology, specifically related to sepsis.
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.

Physical Capabilities

  • Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods

Work Environment

  • This position will take place primarily in an office setting.

Compensation

  • The hourly pay range for this position is $17.75-$22.28. Actual hourly pay will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
