Introduction to the job

ASML US, including its affiliates and subsidiaries, bring together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that are key to producing faster, cheaper, more energy-efficient microchips. We design, develop, integrate, market and service these advanced machines, which enable our customers - the world's leading chipmakers - to reduce the size and increase the functionality of their microchips, which in turn leads to smaller, more powerful consumer electronics. Our headquarters are in Veldhoven, Netherlands, and we have 18 office locations around the United States including main offices inChandler, Arizona, San Jose and San Diego, California, Wilton, Connecticut, and Hillsboro, Oregon.

ASML is a leading supplier of advanced lithography and e-beam wafer inspection and pattern verification systems used for advanced semiconductor devices. As an Electrical design engineer, you will have the chance to join the engineering team to work on a variety of high performance electron beam detectors design with ultralow noise wideband amplifier and high voltage low-drift circuit for e-beam wafer inspection and metrology systems. Your contributions will help to improve the performance of our e-beam wafer inspection and metrology products. Our customers will benefit from the performance improvements of the products so that they can make more advanced chips with improved yield.

Role and responsibilities

1.Feasibility study and conduct electron beam detector design, simulation and verification.

2. Using CAE (computer aided engineering) software to conduct the detector design and simulation, such as Cadence, Comsol Multiphysics, Sentaurus TCAD (Technology computer-aided design) and LTSpice.

3. Communicate with detector manufacturing suppliers to solve technical issue in manufacturing.

4.Create technical production files for detector manufacturing.

5. Build up detector prototypes for the design and test/improve the performance.

6. Make requirement documents (EPS - element performance specification) and design documents (EDS - element design specification).

7. New Intellectual Patent (IP) development.

8. Lab experimental work to test the detector using test equipment such as multi-meter, SMU, signal / function generator, oscilloscope, signal / spectral analyzer, and network analyzer.

Education and experience

1. PhD with 3+ years of hands-on experiences preferred, or Master with 5 years hands-on experiences, in electrical engineering or related majors.

2. Well knowledge of device physics for the semiconductor devices, especially design and simulation of the PIN and APD for charged particle detection device.

3. Familiar with discrete components such as BJT, JFET, MOSFET, TVS, Laser Diode, Photo-Diode

4. Familiar with CAE software for detector and read-out circuit design, such as Cadence, LTSpice and Siemens Xpedition.

5. Be able to use data analysis software like Matlab, Python or Excel to do the device performance analysis and failure mode analysis.

6. Master in handling multiple lab equipment such as multi-meter, SMU, signal / function generator, oscilloscope, signal / spectral analyzer, and network analyzer.

7. Well understanding in semiconductor fabrication technology such as photolithography, wet/dry etching, thin film deposition, metal deposition, wafer grinding and die packaging process.

8. Analysis/review for technical issues in system.
