Introduction to the job

We are seeking a System Test Engineer (STE) to join our System Integration Management & Verification group in San Diego, CA. In this role, you will design and implement tests based on risk assessments, product requirements, and design specifications. Your work will be critical in ensuring the release of a well-defined and validated system configuration.

Our EUV light source is a complex system composed of process gases, high-power lasers, optics, electronics, mechatronics, and control systems. As a System Test Engineer, you will interact with all of these components and develop deep expertise in system integration.

You will play a key role in improving product quality through rigorous testing, identifying and resolving issues, and identifying and recommending potential improvements.

Role and responsibilities
  • Define and own integration and verification Sub-PERTs for highly complex, multi-disciplinary systems.

  • Serve as a key contributor to Alpha test definitions, Test Performance Specifications (TPS), and system-level Test Analysis Reports (TAR).

  • Act as a critical agent for overall product quality, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

  • Support integration planning and Prototype Machine test execution.

  • Collaborate closely with technical development projects and Machine Integration Teams (MIT).

  • Drive progress in System Integration (SI) testing by resolving conflicts in real time.

  • Maintain alignment with key stakeholders, including the Development Project Lead (PL), SI PL, Proto-Machine Proto Integrator (PI), Proto Engineer (PE), and System Test Architect (STA).

  • Analyze issues and provide support in the definition, prioritization and specific testing for proposed solutions or containments.

  • Play a key role in risk assessments and maintain the Issue & Risk Register (IRR).

  • Agent for quality within Failure Modes & Effect Analysis (FMEA), Critical Design Review (CDR), Test Performance Specification (TPS), Execution Plan (EP), Test Analysis Report (TAR), document and specification flows.

  • Drives projects to secure early risk reduction through pre-integration testing

  • Act as the Business Driver (BD) for SI-related issues.

  • Own the Issue Resolution Management (IRM) process to ensure timely recognition and resolution of issues.

  • Contribute to technical roadmap planning.

  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Education and experience
  • BS in an Engineering discipline, or Physics.

  • Minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience.

  • Multi-Discipline engineering experience a plus.

  • Experience with Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, integration, test, or technical support of large complex systems.

  • Analytically strong, enthusiastic, flexible, assertive, proactive, structured.

  • Demonstrated Ability and willingness to travel for work visiting local sites for short periods (max. 2 weeks/year).

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:

$80,250-133,750

Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.

The Company offers employees and their families, medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to participate in the Company's 401k plan. Employees will also receive eight (8) hours of vacation leave every month and (13) paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
