Job Details

Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) coordinator for Sidney Kimmel Medical College's (SKMC) Department of Academic Affairs. The Education Coordinator III is responsible for administrative and logistical aspects of the Clinical and Translational Research (CTR) track of Scholarly Inquiry (SI). SI is a required component of the SKMC UME curriculum that spans all four class years. It is intended to provide medical students with skills and experience that they need to become critical consumers and producers of healthcare knowledge. In addition to track specific logistics, this role will also serve to assist with other program needs and special tasks. This position works collaboratively with the Education Program Manager, SI Co-Directors, SI Track Directors, other SI Education Coordinators and faculty mentors to ensure optimal delivery of the SI courses throughout the year.

Job Description

  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
  • Advance and contingency planning for student and faculty sessions, events, and meetings, as well as effectively problem solves including escalating issues to the SI leadership team to ensure smooth delivery of the curriculum.
  • Supports program educational activities by ensuring accurate and timely content on the Canvas learning management system; performs and coordinates uploads of appropriate content; controls user access to the appropriate portions of the learning management system.
  • Coordinates and communicates faculty deadlines for didactic sessions including editing presentations, overseeing formatting and revisions, and supporting other faculty curricular needs as assigned.
  • Coordinates faculty grading process, releasing faculty feedback to students through assessment software and keeping track of grades in shared network folders and Canvas learning management system.
  • Tracks and maintains records of student progress, communicating with appropriate faculty and staff on students in danger of failing the course.
  • Schedules and coordinates meetings for SKMC leadership and faculty, including maintaining meeting minutes, reserving rooms, AV, and catering; communicates minutes and follow-ups to ensure completion of outstanding items promptly and accurately.
  • Maintains accurate and current databases of all documents, rosters, timelines and procedures in shared network folders to optimize team performance.
  • Creates and maintains detailed documentation of continuous quality improvement measures for the assigned SI track curriculum annually.
  • Interacts with co-workers, faculty, students, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
