Job Summary

The Assistant II - Title III Planning position provides administrative and programmatic support for Title IIIA services across non-public schools. The role supports non-public schools with the English Learner identification process and supports the Title III Coordinator by monitoring services provided with Title IIIA funds.

Salary: $56,117 - $77,842 (12 month position)

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree related to Education, Finance, or Accounting*
  • ESL Teacher License (395) is preferred

Experience Requirements:

  • Two (2) years of experience working in an education/nonprofit/governmental organization or business, accounting, budgeting setting*
  • Experience teaching/working with English Learners and using DRC Insight is preferred
  • Experience with accounting, bookkeeping, budgeting is preferred
  • Experience creating and providing effective trainings and supports at the professional level

*Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Proficient in the use of Excel/GoogleSheets
  • Proficient in the ability to learn new software systems
  • Independently manage multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines
  • Interpersonal skills that contribute to effective team work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create professional presentations and provide trainings (in-person/online) to support non-public school staff
Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative support for Title IIIA programs, including scheduling meetings, maintaining records, preparing reports, managing correspondence, and assisting with documentation and compliance tracking.
  • Supports non-public schools with the English Learner identification process, including HLS protocol adherence, WIDA screener administration and scoring, ACCESS test rostering, Title III eligibility determination, and tracking student progress through each identification stage throughout the school year and particular peak times.
  • Develop training materials to support non-public schools and provide the developed training.
  • Accurately enters and maintains data in Excel/Google Sheets and DRC Insight.
  • Maintains excellent working relationships with MPS and non-public school staff.
  • Assists the Title III Coordinator in monitoring expenditures and inventory, reviewing invoices, and conducting monitoring site visits for services provided with Title III funds.
  • Conducts off-site monitoring visits to non-public schools throughout Milwaukee.
  • Collaborates with MPS departments and offices - including Multilingual Multicultural Education, Language Assessors, the Department of State & Federal Programs, and Research Assessment and Data - through email, virtual meetings, phone calls, and inter-departmental coordination to support EL services, ensure compliance with identification protocols, share data, and assist with program implementation.
  • Actively supports the MPS Strategic Plan
  • Performs other duties as assigned
