This pivotal role is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, and completion of medical record retrieval projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments, and goals.

This is a client facing role will report to the Manager of Client Delivery and is responsible for coordinating operations across different teams in the pursuit of Client record retrieval projects that drive substantial value for healthcare plans, organizations, and the Episource & Optum organizations.

A key component of this role will be the ability to analyze issues, recommend solutions, and prioritize efforts across functional groups and organizations. Key qualities of this role are working with urgency and a sense of competitiveness while having a gritty ability to overcome obstacles.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • As the point of contact on assigned projects, performs a variety of highly skilled duties such as: assembling, coordinating and managing multidisciplinary review teams
  • Lead the planning, implementation, and initiation of projects
  • Facilitate the definition and communication of project scope, goals and deliverables across the organization and with Clients
  • Define, plan & schedule project tasks, timelines, and resource requirements
  • Assemble and coordinate project stakeholders in support of the retrieval project goals and deliverables
  • Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to stakeholders identifying project progress, problems, and solutions
  • Implement and manage project changes and workflows to achieve project outputs within budget parameters
  • Requires an individual to maintain the ability to work in an environment with PHI / PII data
  • Support client engagement process in other business areas as required
  • Provide expertise on project management tools
  • May be assigned other duties
  • Must maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Required Qualifications:



  • 5+ years of experience with direct project management within healthcare risk adjustment and/or the healthcare industry
  • 5+ years of experience in a Client Facing role
  • 5+ years of experience in successfully leading project teams with multifaceted, competing priorities and deadlines, including virtual work teams with members in different geographic regions of the use and across the globe
  • Experience in people management through effective communication and problem-solving analysis
  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
  • Knowledge of project management techniques and tools including Asana, Jira, Lucid, Salesforce, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Visio, OneNote, etc.
  • Ability to travel up to 15%. Travel is primarily during the business day, although some projects may require more out-of-the-area and overnight travel



Preferred Qualification:



  • Qualification in project management or equivalent, e.g. PMP certification

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
