We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Financial Modeler to join our OptumRx team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in building, maintaining, and enhancing financial models that drive strategic decision-making across the organization. This role requires solid financial acumen, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to interpret complex data to support pricing activities. Primary Responsibilities:



  • Develop, maintain, and improve complex underwriting models to support pharmacy pricing and growth
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Underwriting and Finance to gather data and validate assumptions
  • Analyze historical financial performance and forecast future results, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Support scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to evaluate potential business outcomes and their impact on financial performance
  • Prepare clear and insightful presentations and reports that translate modeling outputs into actionable recommendations for senior management
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial models by conducting regular audits and updates
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and financial modeling techniques

Required Qualifications:



  • 2+ years of experience in financial modeling and data analysis
  • 2+ years working with formulas, calculations, charts, graphs in MS Excel
  • 1+ year of experience in SQL, SAS and/or VBA



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Proven excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex financial information for non-financial stakeholders
  • Proven solid analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven to be detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
  • Proven ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with large data sets within a complex matrix environment
  • Experience with financial software/tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or Python is an advantage
  • Experience working in the health care industry



Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $71,200 to $127,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
