Position Summary
The primary role of the Shop Helper is to perform onshore pre-job, maintenance and post-job tasks on IMDS equipment. No offshore activities will be performed in this role.
Duties And Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL:
- Assist all technicians in the shop and yard as needed.
- Perform pre-job preparation, routine maintenance, and post-job servicing of all IMDS equipment.
- Chip, grind, and paint equipment to maintain operational standards.
- Load, unload, and move equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist with the disassembly, inspection, reassembly, and testing of equipment.
- Troubleshoot, identify, and repair or replace defective parts.
- Wash, clean, organize, and properly store all equipment used on jobs.
- Maintain general inventories and ensure spare kits are stocked and organized.
- Attend training sessions and maintain required certifications and credentials.
- Maintain housekeeping in the shop and yard, ensuring tools and equipment are stored properly, trash is disposed of, and work areas are clean.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment to support shop and yard operations.
- Accurately complete documentation, checklists, and reports as required.
- Follow all company safety protocols and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities and tasks as required to support organizational objectives.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- Familiarity with of computer basics, Word, Excel, etc.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills; verbal and written.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities.
- Ability to work nights and weekends as required.
PREFERRED:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Understanding of hydraulic and mechanical systems.
- Experience in an industrial and shop environment.
- Technical school education.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
- Ability to safely work in a team environment, remaining attentive to tasks, recognizing responsibilities, and actively participating with others to accomplish duties.

WORKING CONDITIONS: This position is considered SHOP/OUTDOORS WORK which is characterized as follows:
- This position may require working in various environmental conditions, including exposure to extreme weather and temperatures, noise, and hazardous materials.
- Requires working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment; Able to work at heights, and near water.
- Frequently the humidity is above 90%, noise is over 85 decibels, and the light are intense/glare.
- Occasional exposure to open fire/flames/sparks.
- Frequent exposure to airborne dust, fumes, and gases.
- Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- The role involves standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
