Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Data Associate.In this role, the successful candidate for Research Data Associate will primarily support a new prospective cohort study, the New York City Study of Fertility and Environmental Exposures (NYCFREE) relating to the impact that environmental factors have on fertility and reproductive health. The team member may also work on other projects within the division, which include studies related to the NYU Children's Health & Environment Study (NYU CHES) part of the NIH Environmental influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) Program. This position will support a growing program of work and will involve recruitment and retention of participants, data collection, processing and storing of biological samples, record keeping, and other day-to-day research activities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct telephone and in-person eligibility screening of potential research participants
  • Obtain informed consent from study participants and carefully follow study protocols and scripts.
  • Engage in recruitment efforts at NYU Langone Health-affiliated sites and within the larger NYC community
  • Communicate with research participants, including but not limited to: scheduling, confirming, and rescheduling appointments.
  • Collect biospecimen samples from research participants and safely transport the samples to the lab.
  • Process biospecimen samples in the lab.
  • Obtain clinical data, including body measurements, DXA scans, and blood pressure measurements during scheduled study visits.
  • Obtain non-clinical data via questionnaires and chart abstraction.
  • Conduct follow-up calls with participants to ensure accurate data collection and assist with questionnaire data collection. Keep records of all interactions in our call center database in a comprehensible way.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation, including but not limited to data collection, as well as documentation of specimen delivery and participant incentives.
  • Perform data entry and database management activities in REDCap.
  • Support the study, including but not limited to: creating electronic study forms, cleaning data, and generating reports to be used for participant scheduling and follow-up.
  • Ensure adequate stocking of supplies and report needs to supervisor.
  • Maintain a positive and accommodating relationship with study team and participants.
  • Evening and weekend hours and some travel required.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify you must have an Associate's degree plus one year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer literate with excellent interpersonal, writing, and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree plus one year of related experience in a health care, research, or educational environment. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal skills. Ability to prioritize work, manage time, and meet tight deadlines. Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail. Ability to operate independently and with good judgment. Proficiency with various software packages, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, etc.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $51,251.20 - $51,251.20 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
