Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Alarm System Engineer to join our fire business unit.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Complete fire alarm shop drawing submissions, including battery calculations, NAC voltage drop calculations, sequence of operations, riser diagram, floor plans, wiring details, etc.
• Complete manufacturer data sheet packages
• Review contract documents and specifications
• Ensure compliance with applicable local codes and standards
• Collaborate with architects and engineers to integrate fire alarm systems with other building systems
• Responsible for correspondence with local sub-code officials (AHJ's) to clarify and/or review submissions as necessary
• Participate in project reviews with the sales team
• Provide guidance to installation teams and resolve technical issues
• Assist in training new team members and provide guidance to drafters and other team members
• Work Independently

• Certificate or Diploma from an Engineering Technology School
• 5 - 7 years of experience with using AutoCad
• 5 - 7 years of experience in fire alarm industry
• Knowledge of NJ & NYC Building Codes
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

• NICET Level II in Fire Alarm Systems.
• Manufacturer certifications: Siemens, Notifier, EST, Fire-Lite, Silent Knight, etc.
• Knowledge of High Rise Voice Evac Systems
• Knowledge of Fire Suppression Systems
• Knowledge of Specialty Detection Systems
