DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will deliver comprehensive legal support by drafting, formatting, and finalizing legal documents for the legal operations unit. Your responsibilities will include managing specialized internal legal systems for annual and quarterly reporting, ensuring compliance with all internal legal case management systems. You will oversee the adherence to legal processes and maintain the efficiency of activities mandated by the PA Public Utility Commission (PUC), Commonwealth court, and state and federal courts. Additionally, you will handle complex clerical and administrative tasks involving sensitive legal documents, requiring a strong grasp of legal terminology. Your duties will involve reviewing, proofreading, and organizing legal materials for filing, including memoranda, pleadings, and briefs. You will also support trial and pretrial matters by gathering and organizing relevant documents.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time on Monday and Friday. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of 45,907.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Legal Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of responsible clerical, investigative or enforcement work including one year of legal clerical support experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
