Position Summary:

The Principal Consultant operates under limited supervision, helps lead the strategy for the product evolvement, conducts business process analysis, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefits analysis to align technology solutions related to the Workers' Compensation Industry with business initiatives. Develops business specifications for technical personnel and audits the business specifications from others in the business analysis family for consistency and proper documentation of the system. Conducts analysis of business goals, objectives, and needs of the business environment. Makes recommendations to improve business processes. Utilize systems and data to resolve business issues in the most effective manner. May provide financial or operational business analysis and research to support business goals. Must have strong active listening and follow-through skills.

The Principal Consultant is accountable for understanding the business environment and processes to derive practical business-system solutions related to the project's specific goals. The Principal Consultant must ensure that all aspects of the business need or problem are correctly reflected in the solution developed by the solutions team. The Principal Consultant will be called on to participate in RFI / RFP responses, lead product demos and mentor Business Analysts within the SNAP team.

Job Description:



  • Work closely with the product manager, product architect and development team to ensure our solutions are innovative, efficient, and meet the needs of our clients.
  • Applies Workers' Compensation industry knowledge and expertise to guide client in business and process decisions
  • Leads business process analysis, needs assessments and preliminary cost/benefits analysis to align IT solutions with business initiatives
  • Plans, schedules, and leads collaborative requirements elaboration sessions with the client's business users
  • Defines and documents clear and concise business requirements that describe business scenarios and processes in language understandable to both technical and domain stakeholders
  • Captures business requirements using Change Requests, Use Case Modeling, etc.
  • Tracks project scope through careful requirements management
  • Provides input to and review of estimates at each phase of a project
  • Facilitation and review of User Acceptance Testing by clients
  • Having in-depth, expert-level knowledge of the CSWC application in their respective area(s) of focus and the ability to communicate this expertise to both internal and external resources in an appropriate manner
  • Training both internal Sapiens resources and external client users specifically on the application functionality
  • Post-implementation triage and support to include research of identified issues and identifying potential alternative solutions
  • Reviews the output of others and provides mentoring and guidance to peers as appropriate
  • Provides support for RFP's / RFI's and leads product demonstrations.
  • Works as the liaison between client stakeholders, project team members, software engineers and quality assurance personnel
  • Identifies gaps, project and service opportunities and future enhancements to strengthen our industry presence, meet client needs and seek revenue opportunities
  • Perform other duties as required.



Required Skills and Qualifications:

Years of Experience:

5+ years of business and/or technical analysis experience in the Workers' Compensation industry.

Skills and Knowledge:



  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to set, drive and achieve deliverables
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Strong domain expertise in functional areas in the Workers' Compensation line of business.
  • Strong knowledge of Use Case modeling
  • Working knowledge of business modeling, requirements, and analysis & design disciplines of overall iterative software development life cycle
  • Must demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate business concepts to both technical and end users
  • Must demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, MS Project, Visio)
  • Experience with relational databases (SQL Server and/or Oracle)



Education/Certifications/Training:

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, computer science and/or related field; related work experience can be substituted for educational requirement.

Travel



  • Up to 50% travel to customers' sites in USA.
