POSITION SPECIFICS Penn State Brandywine is seeking a highly motivated, professional Academic Advising Specialist. Reporting directly to the Chief Academic Officer (CAO), the Academic Advising Specialist provides oversight and strategic direction for campus advising (faculty and staff); Division of Undergraduate Studies; data collection, analysis, and assessment related to advising and retention; and academic activities during New Student Orientation. The Specialist collaborates with colleagues across Penn State's Commonwealth Campuses to provide excellence in advising. Through effective advising Brandywine students learn to take full advantage of their Penn State experience. They gain intellectual skills that support informed decision-making in their educational planning, exploration of alternative programs and majors, as well as co-curricular involvement. The successful candidate will have a track record of working effectively with students from all cultural and economic backgrounds. Comprehensive knowledge of university policy and procedures that apply to the matriculation and the academic, personal, and professional development of undergraduate students is strongly preferred.
