UC Riverside's Auxiliary Facilities Services is recruiting for an Electrician. The full salary range for the Electrician is $42.17 - $47.48 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
The Electrician performs journey-level work related to the repair, maintenance, service, installation, modification, troubleshooting, inspection, and monitoring of industrial electrical equipment, electrical systems, computerized lighting systems, and battery chargers. Performs planned and emergency maintenance on electrical and lighting control systems throughout Auxiliary Facilities. Maintains industrial electrical equipment of various voltages up to and including 12,000volts (12KV); performs troubleshooting, as needed, on equipment such as generators, transformers, Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) switchgear, breakers, batteries, DC systems, and Motor Control Centers (MCC) to identify and resolve electrical equipment problems. Maintains clear and accurate documentation of all inspections, testing and maintenance (corrective and/or preventative) performed. Updates equipment documentation, specifications and drawings, as needed. Reviews and updates all shop logs, both paper and electronic according to updates and changes. Responds to emergency situations to mitigate and/or resolve immediate electrical concerns or safety issues. Reviews and creates blueprints/drawings, and specifications for new construction and retrofit/renovation projects according to building code requirements. Responds to emergency situations during or after hours for the purposes of resolving immediate safety concerns. Performs all job duties in adherence with University and departmental safety guidelines. Maintains a positive attitude and communicates effectively with colleagues, supervisors, staff, faculty and students.
