Job Description Job Summary: Your primary responsibility as a PCA/Due Diligence Professional in the Facilities Service Line will be to conduct Property Condition Assessments (PCAs) in support of our due diligence practice area. You will also have the opportunity to conduct Facility Condition Assessments (FCAs) in support of our facility asset management practice area. Terracon is looking for a dedicated professional early in their career who can provide quality, detailed reporting for our clients. Some projects require leading or participating on project teams and others are completed individually. Most projects will be delivered via software applications currently implemented by Terracon, including Quire and Paragon. Site visits may require overnight travel. Depending on local workload, some extended travel may be required in support of other offices in the Texas Division and beyond. Candidate should have a broad understanding of building systems including structural components, building envelope, mechanical systems, electrical, fire safety, and accessibility and should be able to identify general condition and deficiencies associated with these elements, assessing the built structures and creating cash reserve tables for upcoming repairs. Candidate should be able to recognize the need for engagement of specialists, and also collaborate with Terracon's Environmental Service Line in the production of Phase I assessments. This position offers excellent opportunities for advancement. Demonstrated proficiency at this position may present opportunities including project professional and practice area lead among others. This position typically has a 50%/50% field/office commitment. This position may occasionally require overnight travel. This position may occasionally require overtime work. The formal title for this position is Staff Facilities Professional Essential Roles and Responsibilities: Mid-level Facilities professional responsible for managing and executing routine and sometimes more complex projects. Works typically on small to medium sized projects. Plans, schedules, conducts and/or coordinates assessments. Drafts reports and other client deliverables under the direction of more senior consultants. Makes recommendations, adaptations and modifications for review and consideration by senior consultants. Participates on projects of greater complexity within more detailed portfolios. Performs or oversees contract administration for small-to-large projects. Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management. Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in building science or related building field and up to 6 years' experience in performing PCAs and/or FCAs. Or, in lieu of a degree, 4-9 years' related experience. Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel. Ability to learn proprietary software applications such as Quire and Paragon. Experience using tablets and other portable electronic devices. Able to work remotely from home as well as while traveling.
