Demand Planner - Industrial & Global Consumer

The Demand Planner, Industrial & Global Consumer position optimizes demand forecasting and global distribution of AMSOIL industrial lubricants by analyzing customer usage, industry trends, and regional variations. S/he collaborates with sales, marketing, and product teams to integrate promotional campaigns and new product forecasts. Proactively mitigates supply chain risks, responds to demand fluctuations, and leverages JD Edwards ERP and ATLAS S&OP for data-driven efficiency, reducing stockouts and enhancing order fulfillment.

Examples of Work Performed / Essential Functions:




  • Demand Forecasting for Industrial Lubricants:


    • Develop demand forecasts for industrial lubricants based on customer usage patterns, equipment manufacturer recommendations, and industry-specific requirements (e.g., heavy machinery, manufacturing, power generation)
    • Work with sales team to funnel field information (such as seasonality and industry trends) that would impact demand changes
    • Use organizational applications and forecasting tools, such as JD Edwards ERP and ATLAS S&OP software, to improve accuracy, considering bulk orders and contract-based supply agreements



  • International Distribution & Market-Specific Planning:


    • Work with sales team to funnel field information, such as regional variations in demand caused by country-specific factors, climate, regulations, and industrial activity, into meaningful demand forecasting analytics
    • Collaborate with international sales teams to understand market-specific challenges (e.g., import restrictions, tariff changes, or supply chain disruptions)
    • Work closely with AMSOIL Distribution & Logistics to align stocking strategies and reduce lead times for global shipments
    • Develop stocking and replenishment strategies for international 3PL warehouses
    • Translate financial forecasts into SKU level demand
    • Track and report on OTD, OTIF, & MAPE metrics for organizational visibility



  • Collaboration with Sales, Marketing & Product Teams:


    • Partner with international & industrial sales teams to integrate customer promotional campaigns and new product forecasts into demand plans.
    • Work with product development and marketing teams to anticipate demand shifts when introducing new product offerings



  • Risk Management & Demand Variability Handling:

    • Foresee supply chain disruptions and communicate those issues with broader operations leaders to develop action plans to mitigate risk
    • Monitor demand spikes or downturns and collaborate with sales & operations during the S&OP cycle to update forecasts Data Analytics &


  • Performance Reporting:

    • Use ERP and demand planning tools (JDE, Atlas, PowerBI) to generate reports on forecast accuracy, sales trends, and market performance
    • Own and maintain key master data points within ERP to drive accurate forecasting, messaging, and reporting
    • Provide data-driven recommendations to improve efficiency in delivery and reduce excess inventory or stockouts
    • Track customer buying patterns to identify long-term demand shifts and optimize product mix accordingly


  • Process Improvement & Automation:

    • Drive inputs & utilize outputs from Atlas forecasting models to improve prediction accuracy and response time to market changes
    • Enhance order fulfillment speed by streamlining communication between production facilities, warehouses, and international distribution hubs

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in demand planning, supply chain management, or inventory control.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Hands on experience with ERP systems like JD Edwards and APS such as ATLAS S&OP preferred.


Certificates/Licenses:



  • Certified Supply Chain Demand Planning & Forecasting Professional (preferred)
