TEN is currently seeking a Senior Business Development Manager (BDM) for the Pittsburgh, PA region to be responsible for securing contracts, cultivating customer relationships, and driving business opportunities. The Senior Business Development Manager is responsible for communicating TEN's differentiators and value proposition and supporting the growth of our energy efficiency solutions business with public sector, higher education, healthcare, and commercial & industrial customers. The BDM will secure contracts by identifying and qualifying customer targets and using a consultative approach to selling business solutions that address client's needs. The Senior Business Development Manager is responsible for uncovering opportunities, understanding customer drivers, and communicating client goals to TEN's technical teams to develop solutions to align with client objectives. The Senior BDM will not have any vertical market or product restrictions and will report to TEN's Senior VP of Business Development

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Responsibilities:



  • Qualify, pursue, and secure new business in the Pittsburgh PA area with municipal, university, schools, and hospitals to align with TEN's capabilities and solutions. Uncover business opportunities by:


    • Direct selling to TEN's target markets
    • Building relationships and securing business intelligence with suppliers, contractors and manufacturers' representatives
    • Creating TEN brand awareness at trade shows and industry conferences
    • Networking through organizational memberships, social engagements, community events, public board meetings, etc.


  • Articulate TEN's value proposition and differentiate TEN as compared to competitors
  • Create and deliver compelling messages that earn TEN business
  • Understand and communicate TEN's project delivery and contract approach, and the value it provides compared to other delivery approaches
  • Communicate TEN's full suite of project financing options, and collaborate with TEN's financial partners to build compelling financial structures
  • Understand and communicate client business goals to ensure TEN offers solutions that earn customer business and align with their objectives
  • Collaborate with TEN's technical team to develop solutions in alignment with customer's needs



Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field
  • Five or more (5+) years of consultative sales experience, preferably within construction or energy services or building solutions markets
  • Familiarity with state legislation pertaining to procurement
  • Basic understanding of business finance and accounting strongly preferred
