JOB DESCRIPTION


POSITION TITLE:

Training Coordinator


POSITION SUMMARY

Trainers provide curriculum and instruction to all employees for a thorough understanding of Wabash's jobs, orientation, and leadership so that trained employees can apply learned knowledge to their position responsibilities. Trainers build and maintain productive relationships within the plant and community, educational and professional organizations; enhance and strengthen candidate and onboarding experiences; and promote a work environment where diverse talents, skills, and perspectives are sought, valued, and utilized.


EXPERIENCE

- High School Diploma or GED equivalent

- Use of Microsoft Office Suite

- Two years of relevant experience

- Leadership

- Product knowledge

- Operation of group tools and equipment

- Compliance with company policies and procedures

- Compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations

- Specialty vehicle manufacturing environment


SKILLS

- Communication skills - verbal and written

- Coordinate with supervision and other groups

- Read and accurately follow schedules, blueprints, and diagrams

- Reporting and documentation

- Correct use of various equipment

- Work independently with limited instruction


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Under limited guidance, develops, monitors, and revises training curricula

- Identifies and addresses training needs; researches new methods and best practices

- Sets learning objectives and tasks

- Obtains and creates course materials, handouts, and PowerPoints according to course objectives

- Ensures utilization of a recognized model of instructional systems design

- Presents, facilitates, and trains varied skill courses, workshops, and development programs

- Guides and leads organizational trainers and provides feedback for improvement

- Serves in a train-the-trainer role

- Leads and audits assessments of employee progress to evaluate training effectiveness

- Guides and develops other training staff

- Advances and supports organizational development initiatives

- Oversees training schedules and assists in training new hires

- Develops and maintains organizational communications to promote training events and resources

- Oversees compliance of training requirements and plans

- Conducts follow-up studies of completed training to evaluate results

- Creates and disseminates reports

- Works on Continuous Improvement initiatives, standard work creation, and department audits

- Determines the most effective and efficient methods to deliver learning solutions, including experiential, instructor-led, blended, and e-learning

- Oversees the delivery of training and evaluates its quality and impact

- Identifies and develops faculty/instructors throughout the plant

- Supports, advises, and coaches leaders, teams, and/or peer groups toward higher performance

- Builds and strengthens individual and organizational capacity to meet strategic needs

- Reports on employee progress during training periods

- Collaborates in strategic training plan development and implementation

- Serves on training and HR-related committees


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Lifting as appropriate for their group and associates

- Squatting, bending, kneeling, twisting

- Walking and moving about as required


SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

- Safety glasses with side shields

- Leather steel toe boots

- Housekeeping standards

- Other department/job-specific PPE as required

- Safety requirements: some positions may require a state-issued CDL/Chauffeur's license


EDUCATION

High School/GED or equivalent relevant experience
