The Johns Hopkins Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hematology/Oncology APP to join our multidisciplinary Hematologic Malignancy and Bone Marrow Transplant team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to provide comprehensive care to oncology patients, working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in a state-of-the-art facility.

This APP will support Medical oncology patients in the infusion center who require urgent evaluation for treatment-related complications, disease-related concerns, or acute issues arising during the administration of cancer therapy. The APP will support our rapidly expanding Cellular Therapy Program, including Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapies, Bispecific T-cell Engagers (BiTEs), and Tumor-Infiltrating Lymphocytes (TILs) treatments. The increasing complexity and acuity of our oncology patient population, alongside the logistical and clinical demands of these advanced therapies, necessitate dedicated APP support to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality care delivery.

The essential functions include:




  • Conduct urgent evaluations of oncology patients for treatment-related complications, disease-related concerns.
  • Assess and manage acute issues arising during cancer care, including hypersensitivity reactions, infusion-related events, anaphylaxis and rapid responses situations
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests, radiographic imaging, and other diagnostic studies to support clinical decision-making.
  • Initiate and adjust routine, complex, and emergent medication regimens and therapies, including interventions aligned with BLS/ACLS protocols.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient care and meet organizational goals.
  • Participate in cellular therapy rounds, case reviews, quality improvement initiatives and clinical research.



Who Should Apply:



  • Current Nurse Practitioner or PA license in Maryland.
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant from an accredited program.
  • National certification as a Nurse Practitioner in Adult-Gerontology, or PA.
  • Will consider a new graduate NP with experience in oncology nursing from an Academic Teaching institution or a PA with Oncology PA experience from an Academic teaching institution; prior experience as an Oncology Nurse Practitioner is preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills in oncology, including knowledge of cancer treatment protocols, symptom management, and patient education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.

Salary Range: Minimum $53.15/hour - Maximum $82.38/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
