About the Job

The University of Minnesota's Center for Magnetic Resonance Research (http://www.cmrr.umn.edu/) has an opening for a Research Professional with experience in high field fMRI acquisition and analysis for applications in human auditory cortex. The work will be done on Siemens MRI Scanners (e.g. 7T, and/or 10.5T) which will require scanning of human subjects. The Research Professional will also be responsible for analyzing the data and preparing the results for publication. The Research Professional will also be involved with and test any combination of technologies that are used at CMRR, including high performance gradients, high channel count coils, and/or field monitoring cameras.

Responsibilities
* 10% - Design and refine fMRI acquisition protocols and paradigms tailored to human auditory cortex research. Ensure data quality and safety while aligning protocols with research goals.
* 40% - Independently perform imaging on human subjects using Siemens 7T and/or 10.5T
scanners. Maintain protocol fidelity, troubleshoot issues, and ensure data integrity.
* 50% - Process, analyze, and draw conclusions based on imaging data using various
technological techniques, including high performance gradients, high channel count coils,
and/or field monitoring cameras. Contribute to scientific writing, figure generation, and data
interpretation. Support dissemination of results through manuscripts and presentations.
* Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

All required qualifications must be documented on application materials.

Required Qualifications:
* BA/BS degree plus at least five years of relevant experience, OR a combination of education and relevant work experience to equal at least nine years
* Educational degree in Neurobiology, Neuroscience, Cognitive psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, or Clinical Neuroscience
* Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
* Experience with human MRI/fMRI data acquisition
* Experience with designing auditory fMRI experiments and/or paradigms
* Experience with high resolution and high field MRI/fMRI
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Experience with data collection on a Siemens scanner
* Strong organizational skills
* Strong time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with Pulse Sequence Programming on the Siemens Platform (IDEA)
* A masters degree in Neuroscience or related discipline with 3 or more years of research education/training
* Experience in neuroimaging software for analysis of MRI/fMRI data

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $30.94 - $31.00/hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment Category: 75%-100% Appointment (If job description above does not specify appointment or expected weekly hours, assume a 100% appointment.)
