Inventory Control Specialist
Houston, TX (NW - inside the Inside Sam Houston Tollway) + Salary: $22 - $30 Hour (DOE) + Benefits + Paid Overtime
Job Summary:
Inventory Control Specialist supports TGU management by maintaining current knowledge of site inventory and needs. This is a High Priority role and will move to hire quickly for the right candidate.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review procurement of goods against approved purchase orders
- Maintain accurate records of all inventory items including raw materials, Work in progress and finished goods
- Record production
- Create and monitor new items created
- Oversee and verify accuracy of product internal transfers
- Manage inventory counts; cyclical and periodic
- Maintain open communication with vendors and internal staff
- Other duties as assigned
Essential Qualifications:
- Must be able to Read, Write and Speak English fluently
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in inventory control. Ideally (2-5 yrs) experience.
- Manufacturing experience (Ideally, with some Raw Materials exposure)
- Must be an intermediate level with MS Excel - (Pivot tables, formulas, V-look Ups, macros)
- MS Office Applications
- Ability to analyze trends and forecast site needs
- Must have experience with Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Experience working with multiple departments
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Ability to work well with coworkers in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies involving operational activity
- Must have basic mathematical skills, a strong eye for detail and good verbal and written communication skills
- Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work and a valid State issued driver's license
- Other duties as needed
Desired Qualifications:
- Bilingual skills in Spanish and English - (Preferred)
- Wholesale experience in a garden center,nursery, or farming - (Preferred)
- NetSuite or Oracle experience - (Preferred)
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time or until the end of the assigned shift
- Must be able to safely and properly lift 10 lbs., as needed throughout the assigned shift with or without assistance
- Must be able to bend/stoop, squat, reach above shoulder height, crouch, balance, and push/pull
- Must be able to use both hands for repetitive actions such as grasping and manipulating
- Specific vision abilities required include color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
Work Environment:
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions during inventory
- Must be able to work with some exposure to dust and dirt
