SUMMARY:

We are looking for our next Team Leader to lead production cell operations. Our Team Leaders have a direct impact on our safety, culture, work place organization, internal and external quality, on-time delivery, productivity and inventory. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be team oriented, understand the proper use of common tools and measuring devices including but not limited to test fixtures, calipers, gages, etc., have the ability to build complex assemblies and must have the ability and willingness to train others.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Support all activities relating to production performance including assignment of work to group members. Coordinate activities of production personnel and guide our people in their development. Train personnel as needed.
  • Continually improve safety record with a proactive approach to physical safety issues and employee safety behavior. Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas. Adhere to all safety rules and report questionable conditions to department supervisor.
  • Actively participates to help solve problems and create environment for elimination of non-value added activities.
  • Collaborate, develop, implement, and maintain improvement initiatives and Lean manufacturing processes.
  • Read and follow process instructions, use basic hand tools, read and interpret blueprints and drawings and lifting devices like a hoist or crane.
  • Set up and operate various manufacturing equipment in order to produce final products along with a willingness to learn multiple roles and skills.
  • Develop, performs and audits standard work, quality inspections and uses process controls methods to complete the manufacturing process.
  • Coordinate and actively support our local Warner Electric team, Altra business unit and corporate management initiatives.

  • Data Driven: Uses facts to assist with making decisions; when necessary, willing to make decisions with incomplete data. Ability to compile relevant data when none exists
  • Strong Communication: Capable of transferring verbal, written, electronic and printed communications across various mediums to effectively deliver messages to appropriate recipient
  • Strong Problem-Solving, Critical Thinking, and Analytical Skills: Ability to analyzing a problem, generating and implementing a solution, and assessing the success of the plan
  • Teamwork and collaboration: Develop high-quality working relationships in order to influence, gain support, and achieve results with associates and management

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE CREDENTIALS:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 + years of manufacturing experience required
  • Familiar with lean manufacturing or similar improvement methods

While performing the duties of this Job, the associates is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal to moderate.
