What is the opportunity? This position supports Fixed Income Portfolio Advisors in their analysis and recommendationof taxable and tax-exempt credits and portfolios. The Associate will interact with advisors, members of the trading desks, the Senior Fixed Income Strategists, and other departments within the firm such as Marketing, Training and the Private Client Group (PCG). What will you do?
- Department Resource: The Associate Strategist serves as a resource to Financial Advisors (FA)on broad-based Fixed Income strategies. The role performs data queries to determine individual FA's bond ownership and other pertinent information for use bySenior Strategists. Lead efforts to construct and review portfolios and portfolio proposals. Point person for written publications and in-bound calls from FAs.
- Department Coordination: The Associate Strategist has overall responsibility for distribution of all marketing materials and any/all pertinent research both internal and external. This is accomplished by gathering information, ideas and resources from external sources such as Bloomberg, S&P, Moody's, Creditsights, and internal sources such as RBC Capital Markets specialists.
- Specialized Product Support:The Associate Strategist is responsible for providing specialized support to the Senior Fixed Income Strategists. This is accomplished through utilizing marketing ideas, research, spreadsheets, etc.
- Customer Communications:The Associate Strategist identifies key clients (FAs) of fixed income for the purpose of maintaining and developing new relationships to grow the Fixed Income business. Provides external resource and research ideas to FAs and traders primarily using e-mail distribution channels.
What do you need to succeed? Must-have
- Bachelor's degree, preferably inFinance or Economics
- 0-2 years' related experience
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong quantitative skills with proficiency in MS Word and Excel
- Ability to be flexible and patient in stressful situations and prioritize while under pressure
- Ability to operate in a team environment
- Travel as required, typically 5 days per quarter to branch offices nationwide
Nice-to-have
- 1+ year of experiencewith Fixed Income products
- Knowledge of Fixed Income markets
- Ability to gradually work independently and with little supervision
- Series 7 and 63 licenses

The expected salary range for this particular position is $50,000-$85,000, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs.
