Four-year college degree preferred and minimum of 2 years of securities operations/sales experience required. If no 4-year college degree, high school diploma and minimum of 4 years of securities operations/sales experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Job Description
SUMMARY: Directs back-office activities in the WesBanco Securities corporate office and is responsible for client record keeping, daily reports, customer service, and advisor support. The Operations Manager (OM) is the liaison for the clearing firm along with tracking and processing commissions. Functions as the WSI financial and operations principal (FINOP) for required FINRA and external reporting. Possess clear, concise, effective written and oral communication skills to effectively express thoughts, ideas and concepts to management, bank employees and bank customers in a collaborative and solutions oriented manner. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, and ability to train others. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Life and Health license required or pass within 120 days of employment. Series 7, 27 or 28, and 63 or 66 - required or pass within 120 days of employment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Supports department by creating and/or running reports. Supports Compliance Director with regulatory required reports, licensing for Advisors, Associate Advisors, Assistants, and licensed bankers including WesBanco Securities, Inc. Coordinates projects for the department. Projects will include imaging of returned data, integration of data into a primary system and other projects to improve department efficiency. Directs back-office staff to achieve results. Assists with internal, external, and regulator audits. Reviews, approves, and files financial reporting with FINRA quarterly, and ensure WSI is in compliance with net capital requirements on a monthly basis. Processes commissions, reconciles receipts, and calculates licensed banker commissions. Prepares the monthly commission statement to pay and track the advisors and licensed bankers' revenue and commission from data. Works with accounting to prepare monthly entries in order to record the proper income and expenses and ensures the books are closed in a timely manner. On an as needed basis, the individual will be required to open new accounts and conduct brokerage trades for the officers and advisors. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Banking is a highly regulated industry and you will be expected to acquire and maintain a proficiency in the bank's policies and procedures, and adhere to all laws, rules and regulations that are applicable to your conduct and the work you will be performing. You will also be expected to complete all assigned compliance training in a timely manner. Understanding of core investment products, including mutual funds and fixed and variable annuities. Ability to analyze and solve work problems to create efficiencies. Ability to have strong interpersonal and reasoning skills to work with a diverse client base in a dynamic and fast paced business. Ability to have the general knowledge of accounting. Ability to be accurate and attentive to detail. Ability to write professional correspondence and to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to be organized and focused in an demanding multi-task environment. Ability to work with deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to learn new software and programs. Ability to provide assistance and routine information and refer non-routine questions to the proper person. Ability to maintain files. May be responsible for directly supervising employees in the designated functional area. Fulfills supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
