The IT Asset Manager is responsible for organizing, developing, and managing programs and initiatives related to lifecycle management of IT hardware and software assets to successful completion. The scope of this job includes developing programs that align with strategic direction, as well as maintaining program budgets and operating plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and articulate program goals, objectives, and milestones in alignment with organizational strategies for IT assets, from procurement to retirement.
  • Create and execute comprehensive program plans, including timelines, budgets, resource requirements, and change management requirements (i.e. lifecycle refreshes, hardware standardization, software rationalization, and audit remediation)
  • Maintain and enhance the IT Asset Management (ITAM) system to ensure accurate inventory, license tracking, and asset relationships.
  • Conduct regular audits and reconcile discrepancies between tracking tools, procurement records, and physical inventory.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, and Security to ensure compliance with licensing agreements, procurement policies, and security standards.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements, communicate program objectives, and manage expectations.
  • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders to promote support and cooperation throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency within the program.
  • Meet and communicate with stakeholders regularly to provide transparency of program status, issues, and decisions.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • At least 4-6 years relevant work experience
  • Proven experience in asset lifecycle management, procurement processes and vendor coordination
  • Strong understanding of IT hardware, software licensing, and compliance
  • Proficiency with ITAM/ITSM tools (e.g., JAMF, SCCM, Intune)
  • Familiarity with project management tools
  • Strong analytical, forecasting, and budgeting skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to develop and deliver training or documentation for IT asset management processes and tools
  • Understanding of financial principles related to asset depreciation, capital vs. operational expenses
  • Experience integrating ITAM practices with cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) to support risk mitigation and compliance
  • Background in enterprise-wide IT transformation or modernization initiatives

  • Demonstrates a proactive, solution-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed
  • Must work in accordance with applicable security policies and procedures to safeguard company and client information
  • Must be able to sit and view a computer screen for extended periods of time
