Pay:

H&M offers competitive pay commensurate with experience in a similar position. The pay rate for this position is $25.00/hour with eligibility for overtime. Compensation is commensurate with experience, certifications, and qualifications.

Role Overview:

The Irrigation Technician plays a key role in ensuring residential and commercial properties receive optimal irrigation service and support. This role is responsible for diagnosing and repairing irrigation systems, installing both 2-wire and 3-wire systems, and running irrigation-related projects efficiently. The position is full-time, on-site, and reports directly to the Director of Maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Run an irrigation crew to service residential and commercial properties
  • Install, diagnose, and repair 2-wire and 3-wire irrigation systems
  • Set and program irrigation timers and controllers with precision
  • Conduct routine system checks and troubleshoot issues proactively
  • Navigate to various job sites using a company-provided vehicle
  • Utilize digital tools such as a tablet or smartphone for reporting and updates
  • Ensure timely completion of service orders and communicate job progress
  • Collaborate with internal team members to prioritize and schedule tasks

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience - High school diploma/GED and 3+ years of irrigation experience (residential and/or commercial)
  • Valid Driver's License - Must have a clean driving record
  • Proficient in 2-wire and 3-wire systems
  • Ability to operate and maintain standard irrigation tools and equipment
  • Experience setting irrigation timers and managing system mechanics

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the individual is frequently required to walk, stand, bend, kneel, or crouch in outdoor environments. They must be able to operate hand tools and small machinery to diagnose and repair irrigation systems. The individual must regularly lift and/or move equipment and materials up to 50 lbs. The role requires the ability to exchange accurate information with team members and clients on-site and perform routine visual inspections of system components. Occasional climbing or accessing confined spaces may be necessary depending on site conditions.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and uneven terrain. The individual may be exposed to wet or humid environments; moving mechanical parts; pressurized irrigation systems; and soil-related particles. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to loud. The role may involve brief exposure to vehicle traffic at commercial or residential job sites. Work is performed almost entirely outdoors with limited office or indoor time.
