Director of Center for Entrepreneurial Innovation (CEI)- Specially-funded Job ID: 321519 Location: GateWay Community College Full/Part Time: Full Time Regular/Temporary: Regular Hiring Salary Range $84,346.00-$109,650.00/annually, DOE Grade 121 Work Schedule Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm; some evenings and weekends may be required Summer Hours: Monday - Thursday, 7am-6pm This position may allow for a remote work day and the schedule will be determined upon hire. Work Calendar 12 Months Funding Information This is a specially-funded, at-will assignment with a projected end date of 06/30/2026 with renewal based on available funds and the needs of MCCCD. Job Summary Join Our Innovation Ecosystem: Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation (CEI)- Specially-funded position. The Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation (CEI), housed within a dynamic college environment, is seeking an inspiring and strategic Director to lead its mission to support innovation, startup success, and regional economic development. The CEI Director will serve as a visionary leader, operational strategist, and collaborative community builder. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of entrepreneurship in an educational setting with deep community ties. Essential Functions 25% - Administrative Leadership
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in business or public administration or a related field and six (6) years of progressively responsible experience that includes two (2) years of management and supervisory experience in workforce development, economic development and/or small business incubation and startups. OR An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Desired Qualifications A. Experience in a senior-level leadership or executive role within innovation ecosystems, higher education, or economic development. Which includes experience supervising teams of 5 or more staff. B. Experience in organizational governance, HR oversight, or regulatory compliance in an academic or nonprofit organization. C. Experience in financial planning, budgeting and fiscal oversight, with documented responsibility for multiple revenue streams including grants, sponsorships, and earned income. Including experience with financial reporting and/or procurement practices in public or nonprofit sector organizations. D. Experience in entrepreneurship, startup ecosystems, and business incubator best practices. Including designing and implementing innovative programs that support entrepreneurial development. E. Experience building partnerships with stakeholders across private, public, and non-profit sectors. Including experience representing an organization in external-facing roles (e.g., public speaking, media interviews, board service, or civic engagement initiatives). Special Working Conditions
