The Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation (CEI), housed within a dynamic college environment, is seeking an inspiring and strategic Director to lead its mission to support innovation, startup success, and regional economic development. The CEI Director will serve as a visionary leader, operational strategist, and collaborative community builder. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of entrepreneurship in an educational setting with deep community ties. Essential Functions 25% - Administrative Leadership Provides strategic and hands-on leadership to CEI's professional staff, including planning, organizing, delegating, coaching, and performance evaluation Develops and implement organizational goals, policies, and operational procedures aligned with the mission of CEI and the college Ensures compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations as well as college policies and accreditation standards 25% - Financial Management and Oversight Leads the financial strategy for CEI, including oversight of budgeting, expenditures, and procurement aligned with long-term sustainability goals Identifies and cultivate diversified revenue streams through innovative partnerships, sponsorships, and earned income strategies to support CEI's programs and client ventures Manages and administers grants from federal, state, and local sources, ensuring full compliance with funding requirements and timely reporting 25% - Programmatic Leadership Oversees the development, execution, and continuous improvement of CEI's programs, services, and entrepreneurial initiatives Ensures the application of evidence-based best practices and cutting-edge methodologies to support startup growth and innovation Stays ahead of industry trends and integrate relevant research to maintain CEI's leadership in entrepreneurship education and business incubation 25% - Community Engagement & Outreach Champions CEI as a regional hub for entrepreneurship, cultivating strong relationships with business leaders, civic partners, alumni, and other stakeholders Actively promotes CEI's programs and impact through public speaking, media engagement, and collaborative events Fosters a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and innovation inside the incubator and in the wider business community Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in business or public administration or a related field and six (6) years of progressively responsible experience that includes two (2) years of management and supervisory experience in workforce development, economic development and/or small business incubation and startups. OR An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Desired Qualifications A. Experience in a senior-level leadership or executive role within innovation ecosystems, higher education, or economic development. Which includes experience supervising teams of 5 or more staff. B. Experience in organizational governance, HR oversight, or regulatory compliance in an academic or nonprofit organization. C. Experience in financial planning, budgeting and fiscal oversight, with documented responsibility for multiple revenue streams including grants, sponsorships, and earned income. Including experience with financial reporting and/or procurement practices in public or nonprofit sector organizations. D. Experience in entrepreneurship, startup ecosystems, and business incubator best practices. Including designing and implementing innovative programs that support entrepreneurial development. E. Experience building partnerships with stakeholders across private, public, and non-profit sectors. Including experience representing an organization in external-facing roles (e.g., public speaking, media interviews, board service, or civic engagement initiatives).
