Job Summary

The Admissions and Records Department at Scottsdale Community College (SCC) is looking for a full-time Student Services Technician. This position provides a high level of support to the department's back-office processing of incoming high school and college transcripts, dynamic forms, and electronic file storage. The successful applicant for this position maintains a high level of customer service to internal and external customers, as well as strong attention to detail and accuracy.

To best serve the students, department, and college, this position requires a physical presence on campus, with the possibility of partial remote work depending on business needs.

Essential Functions

35% - Performs clerical and administrative office assistance related to incoming student records such as high school and college transcripts: physical and digital file organization, document intake, external course entry, maintains accurate records in department and student accounts.

25% Performs duties related to file scanning and retention: scanning, physical and digital file organization, and adhering to Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records (LAPR) retention regulations and schedules

20% - Answers phones, assists students in-person and via email; processes electronic forms.

10% - Works in a team environment, attends meetings, provides functional support for A & R management team and departmental projects, may serve on committees.

10% - Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and one year of clerical, administrative office support or related experience.

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
There is no substitution or equivalency allowable for the High School Diploma or GED

Desired Qualifications

Associate's Degree in any area

Experience working with a student information system (PeopleSoft preferred)

Experience working in an educational OR office environment

Experience providing customer service via phone, email, and in person.

Experience with using Google applications (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets) and/or Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)

Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy, as displayed by cover letter

Special Working Conditions

Travel to campus during the interview/selection process will be at the candidate's own expense.

May be required to work evenings and weekends.

May require prolonged periods of sitting and viewing a computer screen.

May be required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs.

This position requires a physical presence on campus with possible partial remote work depending on business needs to best serve the students, department and college.
