DEPARTMENT: Social Development
REPORTS TO: Social Development Director FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt/Hourly Position Summary: Reports to the Social Development Director and is a hourly/non-exempt SCA position. Responsible for planning and directing positive goodwill of the campus in and around the community. Functions as an advisor to the Student Government. Administers and delivers the Student Leadership curriculum to students. Plans, coordinates, and implements student leadership programs that encourage student collaboration/participation and contribute to positive culture on center. Serves as a positive role model for students by enforcing appropriate behavior and by demonstrating a helpful, responsible, and concerned attitude. Oversees the Mentoring Program to include acting as a liaison between mentors and mentees as well as matching mentors to students. Demonstrates on-going commitment to preparing young people for the workforce by modeling, mentoring, and monitoring excellence in the eight Career Success Standards of: workplace relations and ethics; information management; communications; multicultural awareness; personal growth and development; career and personal planning; interpersonal skills and independent living. Additional Requirements: Good understanding of the local community and employer base. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Excellent organizational skills. Must be able to effectively communicate with and relate to trainee base. Position requires an ability to operate office equipment. In addition, an individual must be able to interact with team members and maintain an effective working relationship with all facility staff and departments. Environmental Demands: Position requires ability to spend 65% of work time outside and 35% of work time indoors; ability to withstand moderate noise levels, including voice levels 90% of work time; ability to work in high temperature settings during the summer months; and ability to work in low temperature settings in winter months. |
