Job Summary:

The Sr. Engineer HydroFuel is responsible for the end-to-end engineering, safety, and execution of hydrogen fueling projects, including design, fabrication, commissioning, and equipment documentation. It also involves supporting process safety reviews, troubleshooting technical issues, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards and specifications.

Principal Responsibilities:




  • Ensure proper safety considerations are implemented with respect to design, project execution, fabrication, start-up and commissioning activities for hydrogen fueling projects and activities
  • Design, quote, fabricate, procure, commercialize, deliver, and commission code compliant applications solutions to achieve Hydrogen Fueling Market business goals
  • Support Technical Expert in Process Hazard Analysis (HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA, etc.), Engineering Management of Change processes and take ownership of all assigned action items
  • Support and manage the deployment of fully documented equipment engineering packages to include operations and maintenance manuals, P&IDs, BOMs, alarm trip lists, one-line diagrams, PFD, plot plans, etc
  • Responsible for the development of and accuracy of design calculations, drawings, specifications and manuals for application equipment assignments
  • Develop bill of materials that include properly sized and compatible materials to include proper validation and documentation
  • Provide engineering expertise and troubleshooting to timely resolve technical issues identified by fabricators, vendors, Clients Engineers, Sales and customers including on-site involvement. This support may occur outside of normal business hours, weekends and holidays
  • Manage the procurement, fabrication and 3rd party support of equipment and services with fabricators, vendors and engineering contractors. Ensure Clients standards and policies are followed
  • Conduct factory and site acceptance tests to ensure equipment is properly designed and meets specifications. Develop new test protocols as required.
  • Oversee all project-related procurement activities to control costs, achieve desired specifications, and on-time delivery of equipment and/or components
  • Implement continuous improvement in processes and commercialized equipment packages by compiling lessons learned from past projects and incorporating them into technical documentation and drawings
  • Manage equipment designer to create CAD models and detailed drawings for new concepts, modifications of existing designs, and customer-driven customization
  • Develop, manage, and maintain organized project records and technical specifications for all projects and proposals
  • Create operational and project budgets and schedules. Complete projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Assist in the development of training aids and provide training as required
  • Complete close-out checklists for application equipment projects, including making sure all calculations are documented and filed to project folder, and as-built versions of manuals are completed and distributed
  • Coordination with Clients operations to develop technical solutions, prepare system maintenance plans, and build maintenance processes for all equipment and installed systems. Act as direct customer interface for operations. as required.



Required Skills:



  • Product/Project Management Skills
  • Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in equipment manufacturing, installation, or maintenance environments
  • Highly organized & Innovative
  • Self-starter requiring minimum supervision
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Knowledge of US codes and standards (NFPA, CGA, etc.) relating to hydrogen and hydrogen fueling equipment



Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Materials, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in engineering/design in industrial equipment or industrial gases, hydrogen experience preferred
  • Ability to travel 25-30% (50-60 nights / year)
