The position will support the Toledo manufacturing operations with occasional travel required. This position reports directly to the Director of Supply Chain and Operations.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Manages projects related to new production launches, insourcing, and process improvements, coordinating with global cross functional teams.
  • Designs and sets up new assembly lines and continuously improves the efficiency of the existing lines.
  • Participates in the continuous improvement methodologies using Lean principles, Kaizen, 5-S, Visual Shop Factory and quality improvement metrics and systems.
  • Coordinates, directs, and participates in Kaizen projects, establishes labor standards through analysis and time study, designs fixture and assists in the layout of production lines.
  • ISO 9000 System maintenance, Management Rep. and lead auditor.
  • Quality representative responsible for monitoring, improving, approving and qualifying current and potential suppliers from global supply sources.
  • Coordinate responses to quality issues and correction actions with vendors.
  • Coordinate's training of all shop floor personnel including assembly, maintenance, assembly technicians and operators.
  • Troubleshoots production problems in assembly.
  • Gauge calibration and coordinates re-work process.
  • Implements Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process including approval, creating BOMs, creating new parts, writing and publishing work instructions and updating routing and labor standards.
  • Coordinates the sourcing of parts and finished products with Procurement, Engineering, Operations and Marketing to ensure effective review, approval, and integration into production.
  • Manages facilities maintenance function to include the building, grounds and personnel.
  • Ensures NSS complies with local, state and federal environmental compliance issues.
  • Experience with SAP would be very positive.
  • Prior experience working with complex electro-mechanical products is preferred.

Education:

  • BS in Engineering or 5yrs of related field required.

The expected compensation range for this position is between $69,000.00 and $115,000.00 plus discretionary bonuses. The exact compensation may vary based on your skills, experience and other factors permitted by law.
