POSITION SUMMARY:

This chemist role is for a Formulation Manager supporting our Institutional Laundry Portfolio. The Formulation Manager has the primary role of managing one of more North American Institutional product formulation portfolio. The position will interface with Marketing portfolio management to identify product needs, implement portfolio-driven product changes, and maintain the formula data record in our Product Life Cycle System (PLM). This cross-functional role is ideal for a scientifically trained professional who thrives in complex environments and is passionate about enabling strategic projects that span regulatory compliance, product lifecycle management (PLM), and mergers & acquisitions (M&A) system integrations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Formulation Management

  • Manage one or more North America formulation portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain an expert understanding of portfolio formulations, efficacy tests, and the regulations governing their use in North America.
  • Understand QC methods and analytical tests used to characterize formulated products.
  • Perform appropriate performance tests (cleaning, compatibility, etc.) to determine product suitability for proposed application.
  • Create and maintain the portfolio formulation record in PLM with a high degree of accuracy
  • Interfaces with multiple divisions including Supply Chain, RD&E, Sales, and Marketing
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment; adhere to existing safety protocols
  • Manages lab area and resources necessary to conduct product testing
  • Ensures compliance with current and future regulations and corporate policies.
  • Formulate new products and reformulate existing products as needed

M&A Integration Projects:

  • Serve as a scientific liaison during integration of acquired or merged entities products into existing systems and workflows.
  • Analyze legacy data and processes to facilitate smooth transition and ensure data integrity across platforms.

Compliance Projects:

  • Support complex, cross-functional projects that ensure products remain in compliance with evolving regulatory, quality, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with Regulatory to interpret requirements and translate them into actionable projects.

Change Management & Training:

  • Contribute to or lead training initiatives related to new systems or compliance standards.
  • Support communication plans and stakeholder engagement efforts to ensure project adoption and sustainability.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related degree
  • At least 5 years R&D experience in any of the following areas: industrial and institutional cleaning or floor care products, household products, or similar surfactant-based systems
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemistry and materials used in industrial and institutional cleaning products
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills and ability to present results clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences
  • Good understanding of statistical methods, use of statistical software, and ability to use basic experimental design concepts
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment - should be able to multitask with proven follow-through and adherence to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Action orientated - should be able to follow up on feedback to ensure positive outcomes

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or science degree
  • Experience with the formulation of cleaning products in the Institutional and/or Consumer market

The expected compensation range for this position is between $75,900.00 and $126,500.00 plus discretionary bonuses. The exact compensation may vary based on your skills, experience and other factors permitted by law.
