Maine state licensure to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Masters Social Worker - Clinical Conditional (LMSW-CC), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor - Conditional (LCPC-c), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist - Conditional (LMFT-c)is required

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Behavioral Health Clinician to join our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) located at McGeachey Hall, in Portland.

PHP is an intensive treatment focusing on stabilization, recovery and the development of coping strategies to improve symptoms of mental illness, behavioral issues and co-occurring disorders. PHP is a voluntary program designed to provide tools to empower individuals to manage symptoms and promote safety. PHP provides comprehensive treatment including medication management, group therapy, individual and family sessions, and care coordination. Although treatment is primarily group-based, individual interventions, such as individual or family therapy, are offered throughout the duration of treatment. Treatment interventions are designed to improve members' functioning in areas of daily living, community integration, emotional regulation and interpersonal functioning. Mental health PHPs. For individuals 18+. Enrolled patients in these programs must have a primary mental health diagnosis.

Summary

Level I: The role of Behavioral Health Clinician I, working under a conditional license, involves providing comprehensive care and support to clients with behavioral health needs. The key responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing direct care through individual, group, and family therapy sessions. The counselor is also responsible for maintaining clinical records, collaborating with community providers, and participating in team meetings to ensure effective treatment and discharge planning. The Behavioral Health Clinician I will be under direct clinical supervision to work towards independent licensure.

Level II: The role of Behavioral Health Clinician II, working under an independent license, involves providing comprehensive care and support to clients with behavioral health needs. The key responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing direct care through individual, group, and family therapy sessions.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Master's Degree in Social Work, Clinical Counseling, Addiction Treatment, or related field

  2. License/Certifications: Level I: LMSW-cc, LCPC-c, or LMFT-c from the respective licensing board of the State of Maine Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation (OPOR). Level II: Licensed LCPC, LCSW, or LMFT from the respective licensing board of the State of Maine Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation (OPOR)
  3. Experience: Level I: Behavioral health experience including internship prior to becoming a conditionally licensed clinician. Level II: At least two years of behavioral health experience including employment as a conditionally licensed clinician.
