Stellantis is seeking a HIL Systems Engineer in the PHIL team to work on Propulsion System Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) simulators. The candidate must have demonstrated knowledge and experience in development of HIL systems (dSPACE, ETAS, NI etc.) with thorough knowledge of HIL simulator hardware, ECU electrical interface definition, and harness development. He / She will be the primary interface between HIL development team and external teams for HIL requirement analysis and impact analysis. In this position, the candidate shall interface with cross-functional teams of ECU Hardware, Systems, SW, Controls, Plant Modeling, and Calibration engineers to rapidly resolve HIL simulation environment and/or integration issues, triage, troubleshooting during commissioning of HIL test properties. The candidate must be a strong team player, systems focused with interdisciplinary experience and expertise (ADAS, EE, Hybrid & Battery Electric systems). The engineer must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment. The engineer will be working with global teams (EMEA, APAC, and LATAM). Other responsibilities include conducting benchmarks, evaluating new HIL technologies, working with teams on processes, methodologies and tools.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related area
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in propulsion systems, electrical/electronics, hardware, software, and controls.
- Experience with Hybrid and Battery Electric Systems/Components, EE.
- Experience with HIL requirements analysis, open/closed loop HIL commissioning of electrified propulsion system controllers.
- Demonstrated Hardware in Loop systems experience (dSPACE, ETAS, NI, Vector, etc.).
- Experience with HIL IO mapping, electrical/wiring harness, load box design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge/Experience with model-based development tools such as Matlab/Simulink.
- Experience with CAN/CANFD, SPI, LIN, ECU Flashing and Flash bootloaders.
- Experience with Diagnostics Protocols and Tools: UDS, XCP, CANalyzer, CANoe.
- Experience using trace capture, data acquisition and analysis tools such as ETAS - INCA.
- Experience with HIL testing, vehicle integration and validation.
- Knowledge of MIL/SIL validation and verification.
- Outstanding interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to speak with individuals at all levels in the organization.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master of Science degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or related area
- Basic knowledge of vehicle dynamics and specific simulation software.
- Knowledge of AUTOSAR standard.
- Knowledge of RTOS environment.
- Experience of working within an AGILE or Scrum framework.
- Experience with Automotive Ethernet.
- Knowledge of centralized architectures, zonal controller, and automotive cybersecurity.
- Experience in Test Automation.
- Experience with C/C++ code generation.
- Strong understanding of the development of embedded software.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g. Python, Perl).
- Knowledge of Simulation Tools (e.g. Motion Desk, Car Maker, ASM).
- Ability to adapt to changing environment with minimal effect on productivity.
