State Department Federal Credit Union is seeking aNew Accounts Supervisorto oversee the daily operations of the new accounts department ensuring high standards of service, accuracy, and compliance. This role is responsible for supervising staff who open and maintain member accounts, driving a positive member experience, contributing to the overall organizational goals and identifying opportunities for cross-selling SDFCU products and services. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the new accounts team, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance
- Train, coach, and evaluate team members to enhance performance and uphold regulatory standards
- Resolve complex member inquiries related to new accounts and ongoing account maintenance
- Ensure proper documentation and verification for account openings, including identity and risk assessments
- Monitor workflow and performance metrics to maintain high service standards and compliance controls
- Conduct audits and reviews of account files, procedures, and documentation for accuracy and regulatory adherence
- Collaborate with leadership to improve member experience and streamline operational processes
- Identify sales opportunities and refer members to appropriate financial services or products
- Stay informed on credit union policies and industry regulations to provide accurate guidance
- Work cross-functionally with departments like Lending, Compliance, and Digital Services to support member needs
Qualifications
Required Skills and Competencies:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of financial institution experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role
- Thorough understanding of credit union products, account opening procedures and relevant federal regulations (e.g., NCUA, Reg CC, Reg E, OFAC, BSA/AML)
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication and member service skills
- Strong leadership and team development abilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and credit union core processing systems (e.g., Symitar, MeridianLink)
