Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Analyst for The New Jersey State Policy Lab.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:

  • Designs and conducts interviews.
  • Codes qualitative data.
  • Analyzes research findings.
  • Writes reports and blogs.
  • Drafts research proposals.
  • Provides analytic support for research projects including a scoping study.
  • Develops and administers surveys/interview protocols.
  • Conducts literature reviews.
  • Works closely with undergraduate and graduate students supporting the research effort.
  • Handles workflow on various aspects of work.
  • Prepares research briefs, methodological papers, and presentations.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in education, social sciences, social work, psychology, or related field and 5 years of experience conducting educational research, evaluating programs, and/or working with students with disabilities.
Certifications/Licenses
  • Completion of all training and certifications required to work with human subjects.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Familiarity with qualitative research methods.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to be sensitive to the needs of people with severe physical disabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D., Ed.D., or other doctoral degree.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities, including severe physical disabilities.
  • 8 years of experience conducting qualitative research and/or evaluating programs.
  • Familiarity with qualitative analytic tools (e.g., NVivo, Dedoose, etc.).
  • Experience designing survey protocols and/or conducting research interviews.

Equipment Utilized
  • Microsoft Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Ability to lift or exert force up to 20 pounds.
Special Conditions
  • Some travel to other universities to evaluate best practices in the delivery of services to students with severe physical disabilities and/or other types of disabilities may be required.
