Job Responsibilities:
- Performs treatment planning for radiation therapy, including 3D, IMRT, SRS/SBRT, proton therapy, and brachytherapy (HDR and LDR), under the supervision of certified medical physicists and/or certified medical dosimetrists.
- Conduct squality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) on radiation therapy equipment, such as linear accelerators and brachytherapy afterloaders, to ensure proper equipment function and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Executes patient-specific dose calculations and verify treatment plans for external beam and brachytherapy using industry standard dosimetry software.
- Participates in brachytherapy training, including source calibration, applicator commissioning, and treatment delivery workflows for procedures including prostate, gynecological, and breast brachytherapy.
- Assists in commissioning and acceptance testing of new radiation therapy equipment.
- Supports surface-guided radiation therapy (SGRT) and image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) workflows, including CBCT and VisionRT-based patient alignment, and image-guided brachytherapy procedures.
- Participates in clinical research projects.
- Collaborates with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and therapists to enhance treatment accuracy and patient safety in external beam and brachytherapy treatments.
- Contributes to the development and verification of clinical protocols.
- Maintains accurate documentation of QA, treatment plans, brachytherapy procedures, and research activities in accordance with departmental and regulatory requirements.
- Attends educational seminars, journal clubs, and multidisciplinary meetings to advance knowledge in medical physics.
Additional Requirements:
- Education - Master's degree in Medical Physics; May be PhD. in related area (non-Medical Physics) and completed the CAMPEP accredited certificate program in Medical Physics
