The University of Iowa College of Nursing seeks applicants with a strong foundation of teaching for an adjunct position to teach in our undergraduate pre-licensure program that incorporates active learning strategies. The areas of teaching expertise of particular interest include: * Adult/Medical-Surgical Nursing * Pediatric Nursing * Teaching with active learning strategies including simulation Appointment is from August 20, 2025 - December 23, 2025 Education Requirements: * Earned master's from an accredited school of nursing (PhD or DNP preferred) Required Qualifications: * Expertise and experience in adult medical surgical nursing, or pediatric nursing. * Evidence of potential in teaching in nursing which can be demonstrated through clinical practice, experience in classroom or clinical teaching (including as a teaching assistant), staff education/development, precepting, earned teaching certificate, advising, mentoring, or other means. * Evidence of potential to contribute to departmental and collegiate service. * Strong written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills; demonstrated by the ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information and needs through appropriate communication methods and behaviors to provide excellent customer service and maintain working relationships. * Eligibility and ability to obtain and maintain licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa. Selected candidate must complete the State of Iowa Registered Nurse licensure process upon appointment. Desired Requirements: * Professional service to nursing/health organizations * Clinical experience and expertise in adult medical surgical nursing or pediatrig nursing * Previous experience in lab or simulation. |
