Preferred Experience- 1-2 years of experience in the Study Abroad field. Qualifications: Strong organizational and administrative, communication, critical-thinking, multi-tasking, and problem-solving and interpersonal skills. Experience with study abroad programs. The Coordinator will work closely with the Assistant Director for Domestic and International Student Experiences to assist with advising students on the study abroad process, developing Study Away programs, Exchange programs, creating PowerPoint presentations, Creating semester and annual reports. The Coordinator will conduct Study Abroad presentations, tabling, Classroom visits, to promote study abroad programs, create semester student events, and the coordination of semester fair. The Coordinator will create, development of promotional and marketing materials. Experience with Terra Dotta (Study Abroad application / Travel Approval) system, Banner system, Application SEVIS database management, social media, Provider Student Application portals, Attend Domestic and International conferences.

Position Overview


Primary Purpose of Position

  • The Coordinator will advise students who wish to participate in Study Abroad Programs by providing advice on program selection, applications, departmental course approval forms, financial aid, credit transfer, scholarship applications, university policies, health and safety, cross-cultural adjustments, budget planning, connect with career services, and academic and non-academic issues solutions.
  • The Coordinator will work closely with the Assistant Director for Assistant Director for Domestic and International Student Experiences with departmental units and support offices across campuses to promote study abroad, facilitate procedures for study abroad, faculty led and exchange students, and address issues that arise in the study abroad and exchange programs to ensure students are in compliance with the OIA and provider program approval process application requirements.
  • The Coordinator will work closely with the Assistant Director for Domestic and International Student Experiences to assist with the development of Study Away programs for students.
  • The Coordinator will provide study abroad reports to on-campus units such as the treasurer's office, registrar's office, financial aid, academic departments, admissions (J1 exchange students), will create and provide statistical semester data reports, maintaining spreadsheets and study abroad provider program reports to the Assistant Director for Domestic and International Student Experiences and to the Director of International Affairs.
  • The Coordinator will assist with all study abroad programming and events such as pre-departure orientations, re-entry orientations, events, fairs, friendly student check in, university office semester collaboration presentations, creating PowerPoint presentations, conducting classroom presentations, and campus tabling to ensure students and the university community are made aware of study abroad and study away opportunities. Creating connections with student on campus organizations and assist with advising Aggies Abroad, and Aggies Student Planning Task Force groups.
  • The Coordinator will communicate with our providers on study abroad outreach, including the development of promotional and marketing materials, dissemination of information, and Attend Domestic and International conferences.
  • Assist with Faculty led leaders to help coordinate and ensure compliance approval for students to attend programs experiences.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Hours 8am-5pm Monday-Friday May work earlier or later depending on special projects. Work time may be subjected to change.
