Responsibilities

We're looking for an Expert Systems Engineer to join our high-impact Requirements team. In this role, you'll help lead multi-disciplinary engineering efforts to support national security by ensuring timely and accurate GEOINT across the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG), Allied System for Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG), and Federal Agencies.

What You'll Do:

As an integral part of our systems engineering team, you will:

    Support and guide efforts in requirements engineering, solutions development, systems integration, scheduling, resiliency, test and evaluation, and maintainability analysis.

  • Advise the Government on technical decisions and improvements using your expertise in system requirements and evolving technologies.

  • Translate complex mission and customer needs into actionable system requirements and technical solutions.

  • Contribute to the planning and traceability of user needs, architectures, and processes-enhancing current systems and evaluating cloud service capabilities and limitations.

  • Perform key integration and architecture analyses that shape future capabilities and system interoperability.

  • Lead or support Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Courses of Action (CoAs), trade studies, and engineering assessments.

  • Provide strategic technical input across project management, performance engineering, risk analysis, and interface design.

  • Coordinate cross-agency systems integration at the highest levels-across organizations, departments, and national systems.

  • Supervise and mentor systems engineers at all levels, ensuring project success through collaboration and technical excellence.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience:

Required:

  • Master's degree in Systems Engineering or in related technical or scientific fields such as engineering, physics, mathematics, operations research, engineering management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree program, or 18 years of experience as a Systems Engineer in lieu of a degree.
  • 18 years of working experience in government or industry in relevant work areas including: DoD/IC Acquisition Process, Requirements Process, PPBES Process or system engineering of large complex System of Systems or Service Oriented Architecture/Cloud environments.
  • Experience with and strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle.
  • TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a poly.

Desired:

  • Doctorate in Systems Engineering or in related technical or scientific fields such as engineering, physics, mathematics, operations research, engineering management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree program.
  • Working knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering, processes, tools and languages.
  • Software Development Framework certification.
  • INCOSE Expert System Engineering Professional (ESEP) certification.
  • Licensure as a professional engineer.
  • Membership or leadership participation in any of the following professional organizations:
  • ACSM
  • ASCE
  • ASPRS
  • OGC
  • SAREM
  • USGIF
  • Extensive work experience in the field of geospatial intelligence.
  • Experience engineering solutions using Cloud Based Technology such as: Service Orientated Architecture (SOA), On-demand self-service, Broad network access, Resource pooling, Rapid elasticity, Measured Service, Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
  • Experience engineering solutions using structured and unstructured Big Data.
  • Experience engineering solutions using Automation, Augmentation and Artificial Intelligence technologies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in photogrammetry, remote sensing, image science, information sciences, geographic information systems, geomatics, or related fields.

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
