USCG Curriculum, Compliance, and Auditing Coordinator - Maritime Campus
FUNCTION: Ensures department success by coordinating efforts required to meet USCG regulatory requirements for Approved Training Courses and Programs including guidance updates, curriculum management processes, and alignment of curriculum to credentialing criteria; insures complete, correct and accurate filing of USCG records for students and for the program.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintains contact with National Maritime Center in order to remain current on any and all changes or possible changes in USCG requirements, which will allow for proactive implementation of necessary amendments to course materials or overall program.
- Maintains contact with Regional Exam Center (REC) and assists in preparation for USCG annual program audit and communicates with departments to accomplish required tasks for review.
- Coordinates Quality System Standards curriculum efforts by managing course renewal schedule, course modification request, and midterm course audits. Works with SMEs to ensure all required curriculum components are complete for submission to USCG. Supports faculty for submitting course modification as needed.
- Works with Directors to prepare USCG approval of courses, instructors, QAs, and DEs.
- Ensures that student certificates are appropriately filed with the USCG.
- Aids students and industry partners submitting to NMC for MMC endorsements, ratings, and/or licenses.
Additional Job Functions:
- Counsels students as needed
- Coordinates with Maritime Equipment Operator to ensure USCG approved teaching aides are in good working condition for classes.
- Participates in outreach activities as needed.

Required Education:
Preferred Education:
- Bachelors degree in Instructional Design, or related degree
Required Experience:
- Experience with USCG curriculum development and/or USCG credentialing
- Experience in program management including communication and scheduling with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience with maintaining documentation related to regulatory compliance activities
Preferred Experience:
- 5+ years working in maritime industry and 3+ year's instructor experience in maritime related training.
- 5+ years writing materials for USCG approved courses
Preferred Licenses/Certifications:
- Merchant Mariner Credential
