Position Summary |
Responsible for recruitment, data collection, and patient follow-up for the coordination of oncology clinical research studies within the Office of Clinical Research at the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center within an assigned disease group. The Clinical Research Assistant will collaborate with oncology staff, Principal Investigators and unit colleagues to meet recruitment goals and facilitate compliant research procedures per
GCP guidelines. Responsible for administering informed consent, questionnaires, coordinating biospecimen collection, accurately collecting and entering data into databases, and assisting with other administrative duties as needed. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Knowledge of
ICH
GCP, Federal Regulations and Guidelines and ability to follow established regulations, procedures, and protocols.
Research experience.
Possess strong decision-making skills and the ability to problem solve and troubleshoot issues.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to thoroughly document procedures.
Ability to plan work and coordinate multiple projects.
Customer-oriented and team-oriented.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work on evenings, weekends and/or holidays occasionally required. |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Experience in clinical research field (strong preference for experience in human-subjects research).
Experience with obtaining informed consent and enrolling subjects into protocols.
Experience entering and managing data sets; medical chart review and direct patient contact in the inpatient hospital setting preferred.
Skill and facility with Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint. |
